Convalescence Pay

Every salaried employee in Israel is entitled to receive recuperation pay once a year, in accordance with protective labor laws, extension orders according to employment sector, collective agreements, and a personal employment contract. Therefore, for each employee, the amount of recuperation pay to which they are entitled will be determined. In order to be entitled to receive recuperation pay, the employee must have seniority of at least one year in their workplace. As per the update on this matter from 2026, the amount of recuperation pay per day in the private sector stands at 418 NIS. In the public sector, recuperation pay stands at 471 NIS per day. In the first year, the employee receives 5 recuperation days, while in the tenth year and thereafter – 10 recuperation days.
